Spiritual autobiography, or spiritual memoir, is an opportunity for you to find God in your story. You might think that sharing your story is just too big of a task. You might have questions about how you would even begin.  No journey is too small to be touched by God. He’s been with you all along. You just need to take the time to find Him.

Do you have doubts about God or are you firm in your faith? Do you question that He exists or are you unwavering in you belief in God’s existence? Are God’s fingerprints found on even your most mundane places or do you struggle to find His tangible presence? Has the suffering of this world made you angry with its creator or are you at peace with God regardless of your circumstances? Wherever you’re at on you spiritual walk you can find a deeper connection with God through spiritual autobiography.
Believe in the power of your own story. It has the power to change you, heal you, bring you hope and touch the lives of others. It has the power to make you more aware of God and the ways He has been, and is, present in your life. It has the power to cause others to look for God right along with you. The simple act of reflecting on your journey can draw you, and others, more deeply into the presence of God.
Don’t give in to discouragement. You have a story to tell and God is all over it. He’s in the highs and lows and ins and outs of your life. Even more, God can use your testimony to encourage others if you take the time to offer it. Someone has been where you are and needs to know it. While finding God in your story is a gift of spiritual autobiography that’s just for you, it’s also a gift for others. Don’t believe the lie that your life doesn’t matter. It matters. Share it.
It is not God’s nature to turn away an opportunity to reveal Himself to you and others. God really wants you to find Him and He’s ready to let spiritual memoir help you. Whomever you are, or wherever you’re at on you spiritual walk, you can find a deeper connection with God through spiritual autobiography. Don’t shrink back. Tell your story.
Tell my story? How can I do that? Where do I begin? It’s my mission to encourage people to offer their testimonies as a source of hope to others. It’s also my mission to reveal the power your story has to encourage you! Finally, I seek to offer people places to share their God story. This blog is just one of those places. 152 people visited this blog just this past week. That’s 152 potential opportunities for you to reach someone with your God story. If you have a testimony, share it here. Someone needs to hear your story.

Telling Our Story:

Our life is a gift for others!

I want to give Emily desire even more than I desire her to paint. It’s the desire to share her story that I really want to give to her. It’s her story that has the real power. Painting just helps her tell it. Maybe Emily will tell her story, but she’ll tell it differently than I have? Maybe she won’t paint but she’ll still find another way to give her story a voice? Then her life could touch people, reach out to them and encourage. That would make her life a gift for others. I’d be so incredibly proud.
