A blog is such a great place for people to begin sharing their God stories with each other. I am so blessed when someone takes the time to give a testimony about how God has touched them, changed them or changed a life. We encourage each other through these stories. They help us remember that God really loves us when life gets hard. They help us let others know when our life is hard so that God can comfort us through the support and love of people who are really listening.

Certain people encouraged me with their testimonies at some of the lowest and most difficult times in my life. Frankly, I don’t know where I’d be without them and how they loved me. Their love showed me how the words we speak, and the stories we tell, have such incredible power to change a life. When we share we are the hands and feet of Christ for those who are lost, hurting and in need of encouragement. I want to encourage you to reach out and offer your testimony as a source of hope to those who need some hope.
Whether you are a God seeker, a new believer or a person who is solid in their faith, sharing your testimony can help you connect more deeply with God and others. Don’t be intimidated by expectations here: you don’t need a special degree or position to have a God story to share. Sharing is a gift that will touch the hearts of those whose journey is much like yours. It will open the eyes of others with a different experience, allowing them to comprehend the various ways people relate with God. Regardless of who you are, what you’ve done or where you are at in your walk with God, your story is an opportunity for you and others.
Today I wrote an article about sharing your God experience. I thought I would share the article here because I think it will motivate you. It gives you some tips for beginning to think more deeply about your spiritual journey and how you might share it with others. I want to encourage you to check it out. I also want to encourage you not to wait: begin sharing now. Just this week, 100 people visited this blog. That adds up to 100 people who can be reached by what you have to share in just 7 days. You don’t have to look far to have an influence. Your story can bring hope starting today. Share.

Yes, I believe we discover another universe when we find in the weaving of our lives the God experience. It is the hardy tulip pushing through the winter's snow, the butterfly that flies free from it's cocoon into the sunshine. I believe each of our lives are a mystery, a sacred mystery, and that it is in the grit of our lives that God writes His Eternal Lovestory. And because I so believe, I have just published my spiritual memoir, Graffiti On My Soul. The late cardinal Avery Dulles said: "The living testimony of believers rather than philosophical arguments is what is needed today. In former days we focused on how 'we get to God'; today it is more important to understand 'how God comes to us'. And this is what my story is about--in the mark of my family, in the soaring of my life as a nun, in the miracles of life and death, in the mundane and ordinary and through a terrifying trial that just about undid me--like an underground river flowing beneath all events and experiences the presence of God brought me life giving water. And I would like to share it with you! For more information check my website at http://www.eloquentbooks.com/GraffitiOnMySoul.html

Johanna, your comment is beautiful and I will check out your website. I am excited to see what you have to share. I understand what you are saying about God being in the grit of our lives and the trials that undo us (but ultimately lead us to God). Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you, Alisa

Telling Our Story:

Our life is a gift for others!

I want to give Emily desire even more than I desire her to paint. It’s the desire to share her story that I really want to give to her. It’s her story that has the real power. Painting just helps her tell it. Maybe Emily will tell her story, but she’ll tell it differently than I have? Maybe she won’t paint but she’ll still find another way to give her story a voice? Then her life could touch people, reach out to them and encourage. That would make her life a gift for others. I’d be so incredibly proud.
