My Cup Overflows
2000, Age 32

Background and Mission:

Alisa E. Sloboda Clark believes in the power of spiritual autobiography: to reveal God’s constant presence in our daily lives. While receiving her B.F.A. from Pratt Institute, and her M.S. in education, Alisa began encouraging spiritual exploration in the field of art, as well as the fields of secular and Christian education. Since writing her own spiritual autobiography, Alisa has begun to seek for ways to share her story and encourage others to do the same. Suggestions for beginning and sharing one’s own spiritual autobiography, as well as excerpts from Alisa’s own journey, can be viewed on her website: www.journeyoncanvas.com. Consistent with Alisa’s desire to encourage others to share their journey, her website
allows viewers to contact Alisa for support, suggestions and assistance.

In some cases, the personal exploration required of a spiritual autobiographer will reveal the necessity for professional support. Alisa encourages those who embark on this journey to reach out for the help they need. The recommendations and suggestions on this site are not meant to take the place of the recommendations and suggestions of a competent counselor or therapist. Alisa sees spiritual autobiography as a tool to be used wisely on one's journey. She urges those who explore her web site to seek assistance if indicated. She does not intend for the content and support provided by Journey On Canvas to take the place of professional support. Alisa asks that you follow God's lead as you journey and be responsive to His encouragement to get the help you need.

Luckiest Mother Alive
2001, Age 33

That Halloween is imprinted in my memory. That day my life was good and I knew it. All the reasons to love my life ran around and danced before me. Emily and A.J. were, and are, my center. They are the reason why, even at night, the good stuff is still more powerful. They are the reason I refuse to let the bad stuff take over. I fight for my kids. They’re why I’m not going to let the bad stuff win.
